Rick Nielsen, PGA, G.S.E.M.
Rick is a Class A PGA Professional with over 30 years of experience in Golf Instruction, Clubfitting and Golf Fitness. He is currently the lead instructor at Dunwoodie Golf Course offering private and group instruction year-round. He is a Master Instructor utilizing a multitude of training tools and technology to aid in the learning process. Having given over 40,000 lessons, Rick has worked with all types of golfers, all levels of ability and every type of learning style.
Rick is an Authorized Instructor (Master Level) of The Golfing Machine and one of only 32 worldwide to hold the distinction of Master in Golf Stroke Engineering (G.S.E.M.). He has coached other professionals, top level amateurs, club champions as well as women, juniors and new golfers. Rick offers a variety of instruction programs at Dunwoodie year-round, both at his indoor studio and the outdoor facilities.
Rick is a certified instructor for SportsBox, HackMotion, K-Vest, Flightscope and Trackman. He is also a Certified Pilates Instructor and founder of Power Golf Pilates, a golf specific fitness program. Rick is also a Certified Golf Fitness Trainer with the Titleist Performance Institute.
As part of his instruction programs, Rick has extensive experience in clubfitting and is an authorized fitter with Srixon, Cleveland, Mizuno, Callaway and TaylorMade.
Before coming to Dunwoodie, he was a managing partner with National Golf Group which operates Turtle Cove Golf Center, a Top 50 Facility in Pelham Bay Park, Bronx, NY. Previously, Rick was the Head Golf Professional at Randalls Island Golf Center in NYC where his Golf School was named number one junior program in NYC. Rick was also Head Golf Professional at Smithtown Landing CC where he was the lead instructor at the Michael Hebron Golf Academy.
Rick is active in the PGA of America having served on the Board of Directors in the Met Section and Chairman of the Membership Committee. He also competes in PGA events, mentors younger professionals, and attends education programs within the Met Section.
Rick produced a radio show called Golftalk which aired on Long Island covering a multitude of golf topics and hosting a variety of guests. Rick also produced two instruction videos Power Golf Dynamics and Shrink Your Score.
